Getting ready for the 2013 Yellowstone adventure

We decided to go back to Yellowstone National Park for another summer. This year we will work at the Mammoth Hot Springs General Store in the northwest section of the park and stay at a campground along the Yellowstone River in Gardiner, MT. This small town is about five miles from our work location.

We are in the process of cleaning and packing the motor home for our departure on May 9. Our orientation begins on May 20 so we are giving ourselves plenty of extra time in case we encounter any problems with the weather or our RV. We are going directly to Montana instead of stopping in SC and OH. With the directions that Dan found on Microsoft Streets and Trips we will go through Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana with a total of 2426 miles taking six days and three hours. That's just a ballpark figure because we usually make other stops along the way.

Since the temperatures have been in the 80's here in Florida in April, we're enjoying our summer now because we know that we probably won't feel 80 degrees again for quite some time. We hope the spring storms settle down and the snow stops in Wyoming.
